SeaHiker, represented by N. Zhang and J. Hoefnagels, participated the Dutch Offshore Energy Trade Mission to China from June 16 to 24, 2024. The Mission was organized by the Netherlands Embassy in China, Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) and Dutch Marine Energy Centre (DMEC), in collaboration with China Wind Energy Association (CWEA) and Guangdong Ocean Association.
Beside several high-level introductory seminars with China energy developers, policy advisors, research institutions, OEMs, EPC contractors and local governmental officials, the Dutch delegation visited several leading companies of China renewable energy industry, including Huaneng, Three Gorges, Sany, Goldwind, Mingyang and Guangdong Jianheng.
In the one-to-one matchmaking program in Guangzhou, SeaHiker received seven companies and institutions who having obvious interests to our technologies presented during the Mission: (1) jack-up leg cushion system, (2) floating turbine alternative mooring method, and (3) floating turbine large components on-site replacement. As follow-up we visited these companies in the week after the Mission. Further cooperation on technologies and business are now under discussion.
In general this event provided an excellent platform for us to connect with the China renewable energy industry. We are impressed by the fast developments and massive investments in the offshore wind in China. We see China as an important market for our offshore technologies.
After the Mission, we were invited by RVO and participated the Reception in Shanghai on July 4 celebrating the 45th anniversary of Rotterdam-Shanghai Sister City Relationship.
